Kangana Ranaut calls Deepika Padukone a sexist
Many might be going gaga about Deepika’s My Choice video, but at the same time it’s also receiving a lot of flak from several people.
Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut says Deepika Padukone’s much-talked about My Choice video must be appreciated for the endeavour of promoting women empowerment, but at the same time, the Queen actress thinks empowerment cannot happen by becoming sexists, reports bollywoodlife.com.
‘Women empowerment does not mean you create complex among men. Then it will take 20 more years to empower men. It is all about evolving as a soul, as a human being. It does not mean that you become a sexist,’ Kangana said.
If you will remind, Sonakshi Sinha too slammed the video and said having sex outside marriage is not women empowerment.
My Choice, directed by Homi Adjania, calls for a change in the mindset of men about women and asks them to stop judging women for their choices of clothes, profession and life, reports bollywoodlife.com.
The video shows Deepika talking about the freedom of choice that women must have regarding multiple issues, including having the choice to indulge in sex before marriage or out of marriage or not having sex at all. It also features 99 other women along with the Piku actress.
Though Kangana hasn’t watched the video yet, but she is happy that people from the fraternity are contributing in their own way. ‘But I am glad that people are contributing in their own way. Everyone has different expectations but it should be appreciated for the efforts they are putting in,’ she adds.
We are sure you must have seen the infamous video by now, but just in case you haven’t, watch it right here and let us know your thoughts about it, bollywoodlife.com added.
