'Shikari' to premiere in Malaysia Sunday
Dhaka: The commercial premiere of 'Shikari', a joint venture film of Bangladesh and India starring Shakib Khan, will be held in Malaysia on Sunday (November 27).
Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu will inaugurate the show, to be jointly organised by Jaaz Multimedia of Bangladesh and MBC Film Production of Malaysia, at the 'Federal Cinema House, said a press release.
Film experts see this export and the commercial premiere of Shikari as an important and necessary step to expand the Bangladeshi film market in different countries.
The film was also released in North America and Europe on August 12 and opened in four international markets during its opening overseas week and grossed USD 15 million, becoming the highest-grossing Bangladeshi film at overseas market.
The film was released in Bangladesh on July 7 while in India on August 12.
The action thriller drama film was directed by Joydeep Mukherjee and Zakir Hossain Simanto and produced by Abdul Aziz and Himanshu Dhanuka under the Jaaz Multimedia and Eskay Movies banners.
Indian actress Srabanti Chatterjee, Rahul Dev and Sabyasachi Chakrabarty contributed to the film playing their roles.
