Dhaka International Film Festival ends
Dhaka; The nine-day 15th Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) ended at the National Museum in the city on Friday.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor was present as the chief guest in the closing and prize giving ceremony of the festival organised by Rainbow Film Society.
A total of 166 films of 67 countries, including Bangladesh, were screened in four venues -- Central Public Library auditorium, Allince Francaise De Dhaka, The Edward M Kennedy Center and Star Cineplex -- in the city during the festival.
As a part of the festival, a 13-day painting exhibition of Iranian painter Sarah Hojjati was also arranged for the first time at Shilpangon Art Gallery from January 8.
Besides, a two-day conference titled ‘Third Dhaka International Conference on Women in Cinema 2017’ was held at the Allince Francaise De Dhaka on January 15-16.
The conference was coordinated by Assistant Professor of Gender and Women Studies Department of Dhaka University Ishrat Khan.
With the slogan ‘Better Film, Better Audience, Better Society’, the film festival began on January 12.
