Ranveer-Alia pair up for 'Gully Boy'
Bollywood will see a new on-screen couple as Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt have been finalised to play the leads in Zoya Akhtar’s next directorial venture — Gully Boy.
The film is being co-produced by Zoya's recently-launched banner Tiger Baby and Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment, reports the Times of India.
‘The film’s shooting is likely to commence this November and the project is expected to create a lot of buzz too’, reports india.com.
‘The duo’s chemistry in Make My Trip’s ad campaign have garnered a lot of attention.’
‘The unusual title of the Zoya Akhtar film also piques interest. Last year, reports claimed that Zoya was planning to make a film on street rappers based in Mumbai and the project will be inspired by a real life story. The filmmaker was excited about the project and was planning to have Ranveer on board since the beginning.’
‘Recently, Varun Dhawan’s name was being associated with the project and there were reports of the Judwaa 2 star replacing the Padmavati actor.’
‘Ranveer is all busy on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmavati, Alia Bhatt is prepping for her next release Badrinath Ki Dulhania. She is also yet to wind up the shoots of Ranbir Kapoor’s Dragon.’
