Dhaka: Celebrated actress Jaya Ahsan's debut short film 'Bhalobashar Shohor' (The City of Love) will become available for viewing online from Friday.

According to the film's promoters, viewers from Bangladesh and India will be able to watch the film on Youtube, while 'international audiences' can do so on Vimeo, but it is unclear why anyone from anywhere wouldn't be able to watch it on either video-sharing site.

Generally considered Bangladesh' s most bankable star, Jaya has seemingly carved out a place for herself in 'Tollywood' - the Bengali-language commercial film industry named after Tollygunge in Kolkata, where it is based.

And it is there that Jaya, not exactly known for taking on adventurous projects outside the conventional feature length film, has for the first time ventured into the uncharted waters of a short film. 'Bhalobashar Shohor' is directed by noted Indian director Indranil Roy Chowdhury. 

Jaya will be seen sharing screen with Indian actor Ritwik Chakrabarty.
