‘Jodi Thakto Dana’ — Sovvota’s first solo album to release Friday

Songster and instrumentalist Karishma Sanu Sovvota announced the date to release her first solo album — ‘Jodi Thakto Dana’.
The album will be released on 7 July at 4:00pm at the Teacher Student Centre in University of Dhaka campus.
Each album at the venue will come with special freebies — a poster, a badge and a T-shirt.
The launching ceremony will be followed by a live concert where Sovvota will perform songs from the album.
‘Jodi Thakto Dana’ contains seven tracks. While six of them are written and tuned by Sovvota, the remaining one is a cover medley, rightfully named ‘Trirotno’ — a soulful tribute to Rabindranath Tagore, Kazi Nazrul Islam and D L Roy.
All the tracks in the album, except for ‘Trirotno’, were arranged by Shahrin Shahriar, Aliester Sarkar Raj and Samiul Wahid. The track ‘Trirotno’ was arranged by Khayam Sanu Sandhi, a prolific young musician and Sovvota’s elder brother.
YouTube is currently streaming the music video for ‘Ekhanei Poth Amar,’ the raging second track from Jodi Thakto Dana’, which was directed by Rashed Zaman.
In addition to CDs, the album will be available on a wide array of digital music platforms i.e. iTunes, Spotify, Gaana, Gaan, GP Music, Yonder etc. Anyone can also order this album through Sovvota’s Facebook fan page (FB/SovVoTa).
On the event of album launching ‘Treesim Foundation’ — a volunteer organisation that allows people to plant and adopt trees, which Sovvota is a youth ambassador for, will be giving away a plant with each album.
