Mymensingh: A mugger was shot to death by police in Bhatikashore Padri Mission area of Mymensingh in the early hours of Sunday.

Mymensingh Police sub-inspector (SI) Abdul Quader Khan told NTV Online that a group of muggers stabbed trader Abdul Wahab on Saturday night.

Police went to the spot and opened fire as the muggers tried to attack on the police.

One of the muggers died on the spot, added the SI. The deceased could not be identified immediately.

The body was taken to Mymensingh Medical College morgue.

Police also held another mugger, Selim, and recovered a knife and two mobile phone sets from the spot.
