Gazipur: A man killed himself after stabbing his wife to death in Safipur Purbapara area of Kaliakaur upazila in Gazipur on Saturday night over a family dispute.

The deceased are Raihan Hossain, believed to be 38 years old, and his wife Halima Begum, who was around 30, were also worked in Denims Limited factory.

The police said Raihan stabbed Halima with a knife while they were returning home from work at about 10:00pm. Later he used the knife to kill himself.

Local people recovered the couple and took them to Shafipur General Hospital at about 11:00pm where doctors declared them dead.

Kaliakaur police officer-in-charge (OC) said the bodies were kept at Shahid Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital morgue in Gazipur.
