Jazz Night with ‘Imran Ahmed Quintet’

Having opened for legendary John McLaughlin and Shai Maestro at last year’s premier of Jazz and Blues Festival in Dhaka, Imran Ahmed has been mainly performing as part of the self-titled ‘Imran Ahmed Quintet’ in the capital as well as collaborating with other artistes.
On 27 February, ‘Imran Ahmed Quintet’ will perform at Red Shift Coffee Lounge in Gulshan.
The concert will have Imran on guitar, Robert Russell on piano, Towfiq Arfin on drums, Rahin Haider on saxophone and Mohaimin Karim with bass. Featuring tunes from the general jazz repertoire as well as original composed music, this will be a rare opportunity to take part in an evening of fusion jazz of the highest quality.
Trained at Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music, India’s premiere institute for contemporary jazz music; Imran has been playing the guitar since a young age.
The show is scheduled to kick off at 7:00pm. Tickets cost Tk 600 at the venue or you can book your tickets early at www.imdhaka.com or at www.jetechao.com — for Tk 660.
