Bappi Lahiri meets Hasina

Dhaka: Bappi Lahiri, a celebrated Indian singer and music composer, met Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in her official residence Ganobhaban in Dhaka on Sunday.
During the meeting, Sheikh Hasina stressed projecting Bangladesh’s real history as well as motivating people about various issues through music, not only by speeches, PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim told reporters.
She said Bangladesh Awami League would arrange a concert marking the historic March 7 on Monday.
Bappi Lahiri told the prime minister that he started his career in 1971 with a song and composition on Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The popular Indian musician also said he would participate in any concert on Bangabandhu in Bangladesh in the future.
Later, Bappi Lahiri presented music VCD, titled ‘The Slum Stars of India’ composed by the singer-turned-music director.
