The balloting began at about 9:00am and will continue till 5:00pm at Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC).

Denying the allegation police said there might be some shoving and pushing as police members were trying to maintain the environment pleasant by keeping unwanted crowd away. The law enforcers were only letting the original actors and voters in the polling stations.

However, the artistes were seen casting their votes in a festive environment since the morning.

A total of fifty eight artistes are contesting for 21 posts in three panels.  Around 624 artistes will cast their votes in the election.

The panels are Misha Sawdargar-Zayed panel, Omar Sunny-Amit Hasan panel, and Dany Sidak-Ilias Kobra panel.

Misha Sawdagar competes with Omar Sunny and Dany Sidak for the president post while Zayed Khan contests with Amit Hasan and Ilias Kobra for post of general secretary.
