India: Do you remember Rimi Sen? The pretty actress who sizzled in the first part of the Dhoom series opposite Abhishek Bachchan and did a few hit films like Garam Masala, Golmaal and Hungama?

After a few years in the industry, Rimi bid a quiet goodbye. But now, she has been rediscovered and the interesting news about her is that she might be entering politics in a big way!

The buzz is that efforts are on to make her an active leader ever since she joined the BJP during January earlier this year, reports The Masala.

We hear that Rimi is being persuaded by the party members of the BJP to contest elections. The request has been formally made to her by a senior party leader and the Bengali girl is said to be thinking about it because the party leaders want her to step into the Bengal political scene.

The former actress is also giving this a serious thought. Interestingly, acting does not seem to be on Rimi’s mind.

She has already put it on record that she doesn’t want to face the camera anymore. Instead, she wants to pursue a career in directing movies.

But with politics beckoning, will she bite the bait and don a neta’s cap instead of a director’s hat? Time will tell!
