Some 647,000 new arrivals of Rohingyas were reported as of December 12, according to IOM Needs and Population Monitoring (NPM) report released on Wednesday.

The increase in the number of refugees is not as a result of a significant influx of refugees across the border, but instead due to strengthened assessments, said the UN Migration Agency, reports the UNB.

The full report and dataset will be available in the coming days.

This report, produced by Inter Sector Coordination Group (ISCG) in collaboration with humanitarian partners, covered the December 8-11 period.
