Looks like Sunny Leone’s upcoming South period drama Veeramadevi has been embroiled in a controversy. On Monday morning, some members of a Karnataka based Hindu organisation called Karnataka Rakshana Vedike protested against the actress being a part of the film and burnt Sunny Leone’s posters from the film. They also demanded that the actress be removed from the film, reports the DNA.

One of the members of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike - Harish, told ANI that the members of the group are protesting against Sunny Leone playing the part of Veeramadevi since the character is of historic significance. The members of the group also tore the posters of the film featuring Sunny Leone and even gave a warning that they will condemn the film on its release, in a press conference.

Sunny Leone has reportedly undergone rigorous training in sword-fighting and horse riding among other things to prep for her role in Veeramadevi, which is supposed to be a fairly big budhet film under the banner of Seves Corner by Ponse Stephen.

Sunny Leone will be seen playing the protagonist - warrior Veeramadevi, in the film and this didn’t go down well with a few  sections of the pro-Kannada society. Reportedly, technicians from the Lord of the Rings fame have been called to be a part of the film. The movie is slated to hit the theatres in October this year.
