Mahmudullah ruled out of India series
After Bangladesh Test skipper Mushfiqur Rahim and ODI skipper Mashrafe bin Mortaza, Mahmudullah also joined in injured list for Bangladesh cricket team ahead of India series.
Though there is no much doubt about Mushfique and Mashrafe’s playing in India series, Mahmudullah is ruled out of Bangladesh’s home series against India.
The left-hander received a blow to his left thumb during practice at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, said selector of Bangladesh Cricket Board Minhajul Abedin Nannu.
Nannu said ‘Mahmudullah has fractured his left thumb. He will miss the India series.’
With less than a week remaining for the India Test, Bangladesh camp was already considering a replacement, our correspondent said.
Earlier Mashrafe sustained ‘minor injuries’ ahead of forthcoming India tour as bus hit a rickshaw carrying him.
The accident took place on Thursday when the pacer was on his way to practice at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka.
Bangladesh Test captain Mushfiqur Rahim may be unable to keep wicket due to injury when the Tigers take on India in a one-off Test match next week, an official said on Wednesday.
