No more rallies on roads: Quader
Dhaka: Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader asked political parties across the country not to occupy roads for holding meetings and rallies.
Obaidul Quader, also the general secretary of Awami League on Friday said it is an order from Prime Minister that no parties should refrain from holding rallies on the roads.
The minister, after attending a winter clothes distribution programme of Dhaka Metropolitan (North) Awami League, told the journalists his party is thinking over whether in future the rallies or processions would be hold on public holidays.
He said the supporters of BNP are satisfied after hearing prime minister’s address to the nation on Thursday evening marking the 3rd anniversary of her present government’s tenure.
However, he claimed that the BNP leaders, who sit at home after scheduling programmes, are not contented with the speech.
Awami League’s central committee relief and social welfare affairs secretary Suujit Roy Nandi, organising general secretary Sadeq Khan, and others were present during the programme.
