Tigers’ pacer Rubel Hossain has become very popular in Bangladesh with his dazzling performance in ICC World Cup 2015. The much-talked pacer will now be seen in an advertisement of the mobile phone company Robi.
Earlier, Bangladesh national cricket team skipper Masrafe Mortaza, all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, Test captain Mushfiqur Rahim, opener Tamim Iqbal and batsman Nasir Hossain were in the list of cricketers who became models in advertisements.
Rubel has signed a one-year contract with Robi. He will take part in promotional activities of the company during the contract period.
After the shooting of the advertisement at FDC on Tuesday, Rubel said, ‘I have been presented as a cricketer in the advertisement. I hope people will enjoy it.’
Robi brand and marketing communication executive vice president Toffael Rashid said, ‘We are proud of connecting Rubel with Robi. We believe Robi’ll go ahead with him.’
Rubel took crucial eight wickets in the World Cup for Bangladesh. His entire concentration is now on Tigers’ home series against Pakistan.
Rubel was first picked for the national team in late 2008 following his excellent performance in the Cricket Academy and he made his international debut in January 2009.
The youngest boy of a seven-member family, the 25-year-old pacer from Bagerhat played 22 Tests, 53 ODIs and 11 T20Is in his cricket career.
