Dhaka: Bangladeshi fast bowler Rubel Hossain has been ruled out of the 2nd and final match of the two-match DAN CAKE test series after suffering a side strain.
Pace bowler Abul Hasan Raju has been called up to replace Rubel in the Bangladesh squad for the 2nd Test beginning here on 6 May.
Earlier, Rubel felt discomfort during the 4th day of the first Test in Khulna and subsequently underwent a scan today (Monday) in Dhaka which confirmed the injury, said a BCB media release on Monday.
National Team physio Bayjedul Islam said: ‘The results confirmed a Grade 1 left side strain. It takes about three to four weeks to recover from such injuries. He (Rubel Hossain) will begin his rehab in the next couple of days.’
