Chittagong: A court here on Wednesday afternoon asked the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to submit their probe report by July 18, over the attack on a motorcade of BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on June 18.

ASM Shahidullah Kaiser, chief judicial magistrate of the court passed the order.

Twenty six people were sued in this connection while former public prosecutor (PP) of Chittagong court Enamul filed the case with a speedy tribunal here in the morning.

Fakhrul and some other senior BNP leaders were injured as local Awami League supporters allegedly attacked his motorcade at Isakhali in Rangunia upazila, Chittagong on Sunday.

The BNP delegation was on its way to Rangamati, in the aftermath of last week's deadly landslides in the hilly regions.
