‘The decision was taken to complete the trial proceedings quickly,’ he told UNB.
The minister said they were taking steps to complete the trial at the quickest possible time as per the directive of the Prime Minister.
At the inaugural ceremony of foundation training for judges at the Judicial Administration Training Institute in the city, Anisul also said the Home Minister informed him that police will submit charge sheet in the Rajon killing case as soon as possible.
He said the trial of the killers will be held at the speedy trial tribunal once charges are pressed against the accused. ‘It’ll make sure through the prosecution that justice is ensured,’ he added.
On 8 July, 13-year-old boy Sheikh Samiul Alam Rajon, son of Sheikh Azizur Rahman of Badeali in Sylhet, was tortured to death on a charge of theft at Sundar Ali Market in Kumargaon area of Sylhet city.
The killers themselves took the video footage of the incident and uploaded it on the internet which triggered a widespread outcry.
